Pakistan’s food sector faces major challenges including food safety concerns, lack of quality assurance, and limited expertise in modern food processing and preservation techniques. To ensure food security and enhance public health, there is a growing need for professionals trained in food science and technology.
Recognizing this demand, Riphah International University has introduced a multidisciplinary 4-year degree program in BS Food Science & Technology (BSFST). This program equips students with the knowledge and practical skills required to ensure food safety, improve food quality, and develop innovative solutions for food production and preservation.
The aim is to produce graduates who can contribute to the development of safe, nutritious, and high-quality food products while promoting sustainable food systems.
Career prospects include roles as Food Quality Assurance Officers, Food Safety Inspectors, Food Technologists, Product Development Specialists, and positions in research, regulatory bodies, and the food industry at national and international levels.
Applicants must have passed F.Sc. (Pre-Medical/Pre-Engineering) or an equivalent qualification with at least 50% marks from a recognized board.
