The Department of Urdu at Riphah International University was established under the Faculty of Social Sciences & Humanities (FSS&H) with the vision of promoting Urdu language, literature, and research at national and international levels. The department is supported by a team of highly qualified faculty, including PhD and MPhil scholars, who bring with them rich academic expertise and a strong commitment to nurturing future researchers, writers, and educators.
Alongside developing a solid foundation in classical and modern Urdu studies, the department provides students with opportunities to engage in research projects, literary societies, seminars, and cultural activities, fostering both academic excellence and practical exposure. With a focus on creativity, critical thinking, and cultural understanding, the Department of Urdu aims to prepare graduates who can contribute meaningfully to academia, media, and society.
