Dr. Sibtain Aslam

Head of Department of DELL & Assistant Professor

About: Introduction

Dr. Sibtain Aslam brings language teaching, teacher training, and academic leadership together under a single working idea: that a classroom changes only as fast as the teacher standing in it. Over two decades, that idea has taken him from language classrooms to university headships, and now to the intersection of digital humanities and English language pedagogy that defines his current research.

Teaching Philosophy

Dr. Aslam holds that a teacher's influence in the classroom depends as much on psychological readiness as on
subject knowledge, and organizes his own practice around six roles a language educator must move between:
motivator, informant, conductor, diagnoser, corrector, and encourager. The motivator role, in his framing, carries
three registers paternal, fraternal, and maternal that together build the trust a classroom needs before learning can
happen.
