Riphah International University, situated in Islamabad, stands as a privately chartered institution, granted its charter by the Federal Government of Pakistan back in 2002. Its founding mission was to nurture a new generation of professionals imbued with Islamic moral and ethical principles, establishing a distinctive educational approach.Fueled by a not-for-profit trust known as the Islamic International Medical College Trust (IIMCT), which came into existence in 1995, this university finds its dedicated sponsorship.The first project of the IIMCT was the Islamic International Medical College, Rawalpindi, established in 1996 by its Founding Managing Trustee; Maj. Gen. (Retd.) Muhammad Zulfiqar Ali Khan, TI(M), TBt (Late).
At present, the University boasts seven distinct faculties, a multitude of academic departments, and even extends its reach with overseas projects.
