Riphah International University, situated in Islamabad, stands as a privately chartered institution, granted its charter by the Federal Government of Pakistan back in 2002. Its founding mission was to nurture a new generation of professionals imbued with Islamic moral and ethical principles, establishing a distinctive educational approach.Fueled by a not-for-profit trust known as the Islamic International Medical College Trust (IIMCT), which came into existence in 1995, this university finds its dedicated sponsorship. The first project of the IIMCT was the Islamic International Medical College, Rawalpindi, established in 1996 by its Founding Managing Trustee; Maj. Gen. (Retd.) Muhammad Zulfiqar Ali Khan, TI(M), TBt (Late).
At present, the University boasts seven distinct faculties, a multitude of academic departments, and even extends its reach with overseas projects.
Riphah International University, Islamabad, earned the distinction of being categorized as a “W” Category University by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan in 2005. Furthermore, it ascended to the ranks of the top five private sector universities eligible to receive research grants from the Government of Pakistan through the HEC. Recently, Riphah has been ranked at the second position among all the private national universities of the general category. Riphah International University stands as an edge-cutting institution in Pakistan, securing the distinction of becoming the nation’s first university to attain certification under the ISO 9001:2008 Standard. This recognition was announced by the renowned UK-based entity, Lloyd’s Register, recognized as one of the world’s top independent organizations specializing in risk management and safety assurance.
Riphah International University is working on an ambitious project to construct a state-of-the-art campus in Gulberg Greens, Islamabad, complemented by a 600-bed hospital. Their goal is to bring this endeavor to fruition within a concise two-year timeframe.
